Position Overview

As a Civil Designer, you’ll create accurate, detailed construction drawings that support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. Working closely with our engineering team, you’ll use Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare plans, profiles, and cost estimates for utility, grading, roadway, and site development projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to grow a long-term career in civil design within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

 

Compensation

–  $30-$58 / hour (DOE)

–  Regular Full-time, Non-Exempt Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil construction drawings and plan sets using Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Design site layouts, grading, and utility systems (water, sewer, storm drain, irrigation, roadways)
  • Perform storm drain calculations and analysis
  • Coordinate with project engineers to meet design goals and schedules
  • Develop project quantities, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Apply municipal design standards and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting workflows and design templates
  • Provide construction support and assist with field-related engineering tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in design / layout of municipal infrastructure (e.g., water, sewer, roadways, parks)
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, organization, computation, and analytical skills
  • Team-oriented, proactive, detail-focused, and committed to following design standards
  • Professional appearance and positive, friendly demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Previous municipal engineering experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Passion for a career in civil design and public infrastructure
